MSH6 (MutS homolog 6 protein) is expressed in normal proliferating cells and, when heterodimerized with MSH2, is involved in repairing DNA mutations which may occur during DNA replication. Lost expression or low levels of MSH6 are associated with colorectal and other cancers.
Intended use
MSH6 is a useful tool for classifying tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, including associated extra colonic cancers such as endometrial and prostate cancers, when used with a panel of antibodies.
