Calretinin

Calretinin is a calcium-binding protein that is expressed in both central and peripheral neural tissues, mesothelium, eccrine glands of skin, Sertoli cells of the testis, ovarian stromal cells, and adrenal cortical cells

Intended use

Calretinin is useful for identification of malignant mesotheliomas of the epithelial type and their differentiation from metastases of lung adenocarcinoma when used with a panel of other antibodies

At least weak to moderate, distinct cytoplasmic and nuclear staining reaction of the majority of cortical epithelial cells of the adrenal gland and of fat cells in the tissue included
No staining reaction of the columnar epithelial cells of the appendix
