Calponin is a protein involved in the regulation of smooth muscle contraction and is expressed exclusively to vascular and visceral smooth muscle cells.
Intended use
Calponin is expressed in malignant myoepithelioma, pleomorphic adenoma of salivary gland, and angiomatoid malignant fibrous histiocytoma. Calponin is useful for differentiating normal and benign
sclerosing lesions of the breast from carcinoma when used with a panel of antibodies.
