Epithelial Membrane Antigen (EMA) is a membrane protein expressed on the apical surface of secretory
glandular epithelial cells in a variety of tissues. The antibody labels EMA in normal and neoplastic cells.
Intended use
It is a useful tool for identifying adenocarcinomas derived from secretory epithelia such as metastases of breast carcinoma. It is also a useful tool for identifying malignant mesothelioma, renal cell carcinomas, and meningiomas when using with a panel of antibodies.
