Cytokeratin 20 (CK20) is a cytokeratin protein expressed in mature enterocytes and goblet cells of the gastric and intestinal mucosa
Intended use
Most colon adenocarcinomas, mucinous ovarian tumors, transitional cell and Merkel-cell carcinomas, gastric adenocarcinomas, bile system, and pancreas are CK20 positive. Most squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas from breast, endometrium, lung, and prostate maybe CK20 negative, as well as nonmucinous tumors of the ovary and small-cell lung carcinomas. The antibody labels CK20 protein in normal and neoplastic cells. It is a useful tool for classifying colonic epithelial lineage when used with a panel of antibodies.
