Melan A, also known as Melanoma Antigen Recognized by T-cell 1 (MART-1), is a transmembrane protein expressed in skin, melanocytes, and steroid producing cells. Melan A is detected in melanomas and
angiomyolipomas. The antibody labels Melan A protein in both normal and neoplastic cells.
Intended use
It is a useful tool for identifying melanomas when using with a panel of antibodies
