CD43

CD43 is membrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of thymocytes, T-cells, and cells of the myeloid
lineage.

Intended use

The antibody labels CD43 in normal and neoplastic cells. It is a useful tool for identifying and classifying a range of lymphoid and myeloid tumors when used with a panel of antibodies

Assessment criteria
A strong membranous staining reaction of T-cells in the T-zones of tonsil
An at least moderate membranous staining reaction of scattered T-cells and macrophages in the germinal center of tonsil, or/ and an at least moderate and distinct membranous staining reaction of inter-epithelial T-cells in appendix
No staining reaction should be seen in the other cells in tonsil, and no staining reaction in epithelial cells in appendix.
