Intended use

PAX8 is useful for identifying renal cell carcinoma (RCC), ovarian non-mucinous carcinoma, and gynecologic tract malignancies when used with a panel of antibodies.

Assessment criteria
At least weak to moderate, distinct nuclear staining reaction in the majority of epithelial cells of the proximal, distal/collecting renal tubules, loops of Henle and the parietal epithelial cells of Bowman’s capsule in the kidney
No staining should be seen in e.g. squamous epithelial cells and lymphocytes
*A weak cytoplasmic staining reaction in the same cells in kidney can be expected
