Cyclin D1

Cyclin D1 is a key cell cycle regulating protein expressed primarily during the G1 phase of the cell cycle.

Intended use

It is a useful tool for classifying mantle cell lymphomas and breast carcinoma when used with a panel of antibodies.

Assessment criteria
A moderate to strong, distinct nuclear staining of virtually all suprabasal squamous epithelial cells, scattered lymphocytes and endothelial cells in tonsil
At least weak, distinct nuclear staining of germinal center macrophages in tonsil
No staining of germinal centre lymphocytes and the vast majority of mantle zone B-cells and interfollicular lymphocytes in the tonsils
