Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) is a membrane-bound glycosylated dimeric enzyme expressed primarily in the placenta, and also in the endocervix and fallopian tubes. It is closely related to the intestinal form of the enzyme as well as to the placental-like form
Intended use
PLAP is useful for differentiating germ cell tumors such as seminomas and desmoplastic small round cell tumors from other neoplasms when used with a panel of antibodies.
