CD2

CD2 a transmembrane protein expressed on the majority of thymocytes and peripheral T-lymphocytes,
and is considered a pan T-cell antigen

Intended use

The antibody labels CD2 in both normal and neoplastic T-cells. It is useful for identifying and classifying peripheral T-cell lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and Tlymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma when used with a panel with other antibodies. Expression of CD2 is alsoseen in some mast cell disorders.

Moderate to strong membranous staining of intraepithelial T-cells in appendix/ colon
Moderate to strong membranous staining of crowed T-cells in T-zone and scattered T-cells and macrophages in germinal center of tonsil
No staining of other type of cells in tonsil and appendix
