CD14 is a membrane protein that primary is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, follicular dendritic cells, histiocytes, and Langerhans’ cells.
Intended use
CD14 is detected in myeloid leukemias with monoblastic/monocytic differentiation, histiocytic neoplasms, Langerhans' cell histiocytosis, and giant cell tumor. CD14 is more specific than CD68 in the identification of monocytes/histiocytes and the associated neoplasia. The anti-CD14 antibody is useful for classification of neoplastic cells of monocytic cell lineage when used with a panel of other antibodies.
