CD99

CD99 is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in endothelial cells, some lymphocytes, and various other cells. CD99 is frequently overexpressed in many types of tumors, particularly pediatric tumors including Ewing sarcoma and specific subtypes of acute leukemia

Intended use

CD99 has been detected in almost all cases of Ewing sarcoma/peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor (pPNET) and shows distinct membranous staining for Ewing sarcoma/pNET. Membrane and/or cytoplasmic staining has been observed in other tumors. CD99 is a useful aid in the differential diagnosis of small round blue cell tumors (SRBCTs) in childhood and identification of Ewing sarcoma when used in a panel with other antibodies
